I've just started this this model. Work'd on it for about 8 hours in a row now. It's a Case 2290 from 1980, one of my all-time faborite tractors. I hope it will be a future mod avalible for LS but its my very first model in 3d. So please tell me what you think:
The model so far:

The good old logo as we know it:

.. even i 3D. The most difficult thing to make so far:

And this is the picture that i have been working from:

Any comments are more than welcome.. _________________ 23 years, from Denmark.

Looks great! I love Case. Good to see another one in production. Wish I could model like that, unfortunately I don't think I could get the shapes and proportions right yet, let alone know where to start.
I have an idea for an implement, but how do you specify hitch points and cutting areas? It has me at a total loss.

Its actually just a drawing to a wall i have pulled i the right directions. I put the picture on the wall, resized it to the right size and then i just started drwaing. The hitch-points and cutting areas to you set in the *.i3d-model with Giants Editor. _________________ 23 years, from Denmark.

I see, that's quite a good method. I'll have to finish my rough model of a side mower and play about with it and try and get it to work, although I doubt I'll ever use it properly since I have a better idea that I will do as a proper project.

Yeah, but it's only a thrown together model to help me remember SketchUp (I haven't used it in about half a year) and just to test things out.

My other idea will be more refined. The cutting 'teeth' on this model would amount to quite a high face count, so I'll do them differently and more precise on my other idea.
Plus this was from my head and the proportions are out.
I need SketchUp Pro to do animation, although I don't know how to do animation for LS yet anyway. Any recommendations?
EDIT: Two more pics, now textured with worn and torn metals.

Not yet, but that's my priority after getting it into the game, unless you find something first.

Textures that have some transparency. It's what we used to call them when I modded before, anyway.

Aah okay.
Got a little further, made the headlamps. I like all the small details I erased the windows, because it will be easier makeing the interior when i not have tozoom in and out through the windows.

You can 'hide' parts of a model so you can see other parts more clearly, I haven't used it yet though.
I'm having difficulty with Maya and the .i3d exporter. The damn script is right there in front of it and Maya "can't find it" so I'm reinstalling it, but Windows has taken about 10 minutes so far with the uninstall program and all it's done is "gather information"...I hate Windows.

Damn. That's pretty lame. But still great that you try to find the solution to make the i3d-files. _________________ 23 years, from Denmark.
