Damn Tractor Mods

[It's Just Me]

Am I doing something wrong when installing tractor mods? Most other mods work fine for me now but tractor mods always give me the pathetic, everlasting, useless ship horn at the loading screen. I've installed them like I do any other mod, but why is it that none of the tractor mods seem to come with readme's? It may help if I knew if something was supposed to go somewhere special. All I do is dump the mod in a folder in the \data\vehicles\steerable\ file path then link them in the careerVehicles file, I check the file paths and everything but I always end up with that bloody horn!

Can anyone help on this one? I would really like some tractors that weren't all Fendt's...

Which ones are they? If they're off LS-Modschmiede could you give the link? I've downloaded 3 tractors from there but they didn't include readme's and none have worked so far.

I think that your tractors dont appear in the game is because you maybe tried install a tractor with frontloader? And didnt put the *.lua in the right folder? And/or put the frontloader string in vehicleTypes.xml?

I downloaded the JCB Fasttrac but it didn't have one...though I may download it again since the download may have gone a little wrong.

Nope, I'm not installing any tractors with frontloaders, just normal tractors going into the steerable folder then the string into careerVehicles.

I will download some more and see if they have readme's, and see if they work. I'm planning on downloading a new map too, there's one that looks brilliant.

-I downloaded the JCB again and no readme. For some reason in the download all the files are "ICB" instead of "JCB"?

Solltet Ihr den Ordner nicht haben dann erstellt ihn bitte

In der carreervehicles macht Ihr dann folgenden Eintrag:

<vehicle filename="data/vehicles/steerable/ICB/fasttrack 2150.xml" xPosition="170" yOffset="0.5" zPosition="180" yRotation="0"/>


Position nach belieben ändern.

Thanks for that. This time there was no error but it didn't appear in game. The good news is I got a New Holland tractor in and working, and I installed the Trisix but the wheels were solid white and just round, so I think there was either a model or texture error, but I took it out.

I think you should try re-install the whole game. And before adding any mods, install the Grünland-addon and the Grass-mod. Because i have newer heard about problems with the textures.

I'm not greatly fussed at the moment. I have some nice mods working and a new map to play around with. No doubt I will re-install the game sometime and completely redo all my mods.

One thing, what's the Grunland-addon and the grass mod? Not being a German speaker I tend not to be able to find out much about big mods. The sticky with the release of the grass mod doesn't explain what it is.
