I'm having some trouble doing something that seems really simple. I want to export one of the original Fendt combines to re-skin in SketchUp. When I load up the model in GIANTS Editor and export it to a OBJ file everything seems OK. Then the OBJ file turns out like this:

I'm not bothered about the loss of all textures, I am aware that the importer I used does not do textures, and it makes it easier for me to edit and re-skin the whole model anyway. What I am frustrated about it the big box that GIANTS Editor seems to be putting over the model when it exports it. No, it's not just SketchUp because I tried importing it with another program and it came up the same.

Any help?

Habe you tryed erase the 'box' on top of the combine? Maybe the real model is 'underneath' the box?

Yeah, I finally figured it out but haven't had time to edit my post. I had to explode the model and then delete the box around it.

Thing is I don't know how to skin it. The sides are made up of several different faces and I don't know how to stretch one texture (an image of the side of a different combine) across multiple faces. Rolling Eyes

You can open the old skin with the program DXTBMP and then edit the old skin. Just paste new layers to the old skin. I guess that would work.

(Just got my new motherboard so now i will be back modding Wink )

Sounds good, I will try that.  Very Happy

Good to hear your PC is sorted, I'm having trouble with the I3D's again. I can export OK now but I'm either exporting it wrongly or not doing something and it ends up in GIANTS Editor all screwed up. You cannot see it unless you select it and then it's only a messed up wire frame view with a weird texture that appears splashed over it sometimes.
